Lenovo’s Motorola Moto G5 smartphone launched earlier this month, and now the company announced it will be available in India also. The G5 Plus already hit the market this month. The G5’s launch will take place in India on April 4. the company already started to send out the invites to partners and media, according to Gadgets 360. Even though the G5 Plus is exclusive to  Flipkart, the only company to sell the Moto G5 in India will be Amazon. The handset will go on sale immediately after the launch event. Customers will be able to purchase it in India starting 12 am IST on April 5.

Just like its name suggests, the G5 is the smaller version of the G5 Plus. The 5-inch device has a 1080p full-HD display and features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The handset comes in two variants. one of them includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, while the other one offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. Both variants support microSD card slots, so users can further expand their storage. The battery of the Moto G5 is a 2800mAh one, and it supports fast charging. Unfortunately for USB Type-C fans, the G5 doesn’t offer this feature. Instead, it has a regular, 2.0 microUSB slot.

Among others, the Moto G5 features a fingerprint scanner, a 13MP back camera, and a 5MP selfie camera. Even though it may not be the most impressive smartphone, at least it runs on Android Nougat, it features Google Assistant and has a mid-range price tag. Naturally, the G5 comes with a number of  Motorola-exclusive features. These include  Moto Display, Actions, twist gesture, and a One Button Nav mode. Given the fact that the G5 Plus sells for Rs. 14,999, and Rs. 16,999, it’s safe to assume that the smaller sibling will have a more affordable price tag.

The launch event, as we already mentioned, will take place on April 4. After this date, we will know for sure how much the Moto G5 will set customers back. Customers can choose between the Lunar Grey and the Fine Gold versions. The color option should not affect the price of the device.
