One of the big problems of the smartphone industry is battery life, which is also one of the most debated subjects among smartphone users. Among the best ways of maximizing battery life on a device is a power case that can supply the phone with extra power during the day. Resurgence today launched their line of power cases, designed for pupils, students and young adults who tend to spend most of their days away from their charging stations. Resurgence puts a lot of emphasis on their power cases’ usefulness for this demographic and as such targets parents and young adults.

The Resurgence power cases for Apple’s smartphone line-up was launched today and it brings to market new power cases for the iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 6. What the company is not emphasizing too much, but should nonetheless be one of the most important features of these cases is their military-grade shock-proof build and drop, as well as impact protection. Since the Resurgence cases are targeted at younger audiences who tend to be more careless with the technology that they use, having drop, shock and impact protection built-in the body of the case is a very important feature to have to ensure longevity of the tech that we use.

Resurgence cases have 2600 mAh batteries built in and come with a mechanism that allows you to conserve the juice that is left in each power case. The case’s charging capabilities can be turned on with a button, but when the iPhone 6 or whichever model one is charging is up to 100 % battery life, the power case automatically stops charging the phone. This prevents the case and the iPhone battery from becoming overused and overheated. If users are unsure of how much power their Resurgence power case still has in it, the company incorporated an LED light into the build so that a low power signal could be easily identified.

Since these Resurgence iPhone power cases are pretty well-endowed and filled with useful features, one might assume their prices are as impressive. If so, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the cases cost $100 a piece and are available through the Otterbox website. Resurgence cases come with ergonomic designs and are available in various colors, such as red, black, gray and lime. They’re only available for the iPhone 6, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S, but an iPhone 6 Plus model should also surface in the following few weeks. The cases add considerable bulk and weight to your phone, but not as much as to make them bothersome. Trading it a bit of appearance for a whole lot of benefits sounds pretty fair in our minds.
